Happy New Year 2013

Freshly photographed fireworks, taken just a few minutes after midnight.

Happy New Year everyone! First of all, I’d like to thank WordPress, my followers and all visitors for making 2012 a succesful blogging year for me; it has given me a lot of energy and feelings of gratitude.

A lot has happened this past year, as I succesfully graduated secondary school and got accepted as a student at Amsterdam University College, where I’ve been studying since August. It is also the first time in my life that I’m living on my own. I travelled to Tenerife and Luxembourg during summer, which have become invaluable memories I will never forget. Admittedly, these past few months of autumn do not feel as substantial as I might have envisioned them to be, but this in itself is significant to me and I know they will prove vital to my academic development later in life. I know I have made the right choices. In 2013, in a personal sense of knowledge and vigor, I hope to find an improved balance in giving but also receiving.

I am excited for this year and continuously aim to grow as a person and, hopefully, let that translate into my online projects as well. Let’s live in the present and dream about our future, nevertheless appreciate the past.

(P.S. This also happens to be my 100th post!)

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 24,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 6 Film Festivals
